The Hosanna Community Foundation, Inc. is a Christian Faith based organization. The purpose of Hosanna Community Foundation, Inc. is to provide meaningful services that meet the total needs of youth and families within Miami-Dade County.
The Foundation is a not-for-profit public supported organization. It is organized exclusively to provide social services that develop and/or enhance the process of continuing opportunities for advancement in the area of health, education, economic development, employment, life skill management and community awareness. The curriculum incorporates both secular and Christian principles to facilitate change within the community it serves.
Hosanna Community Foundation, Inc. in its desire to serve all people strives and does so by using the following categories:
* Rap Sessions: Rap sessions focus on building self-esteem through the teaching of Human History using the Bible as the textbook. Participants gain an awareness and appreciation for all ethnic cultures of the world. The other areas of interest include career, educational and life management. The main focus of each session is to promote moral living.
* Family & Social Intervention Counseling: Family Counseling involves social intervention and it is provided on individual and group (family workshops) levels. The focus is troubled teens within the family. The goal is to assist families in crisis through implementing social intervention techniques.
Trained social workers, counselors, teacher, preachers and other governmental agencies/personnel with the intent to enhance quality of life conduct the Social Intervention Counseling provisions.
* Abuse Counseling: Prevention counseling is provided for alcohol, tobacco, child, drugs and sexual abuses.
* A.I.D.S.: A.I.D.S. awareness seminars and counseling is provided as a prevention measure. Counseling is also provided during the course of the illness.
* Church and Community: Church and community involvement is the desired goal of Hosanna Community Foundation, Inc. As the community is introduced to Christ and the community ministry of the partnering church (Hosanna Community Baptist Church) a bridge between community and church is established and the church becomes a vital source of support for those served.
* Premarital Sex Counseling: HCF teaches teens to take pride in being a virgin (male and female). It also teaches the risks, precautions and consequences associated with being sexually active before and outside of a martial relationship. Abstinence before marriage is the desired goal.
* Self-Confidence: Self-Confidence is taught by providing the necessary vehicles to improve self-esteem through individual and team activities.
* Educational Achievements: one on one tutoring provides educational enhancement.
* Defining Success: Each person defines success for himself or herself. Once a person determines what's success is for them, HCF teaches them everyday behavior patterns needed in order to accomplished desired goals.
