Youth Leadership Program

  • Unlike the Youth Leadership Academy, this program is designed to equip youth ages seven to eighteen with the practical skills needed to become community leaders.  These skills will cultivate a productive, self-fulfilled and achievement-oriented attitude that will continue on to adulthood.
  • The goal of YLP is to establish a Disproportion Minority Contact program model that reduces juvenile detention among minority youth within selective Miami-Dade communities.  It is designed to address issues such as school drop-out, unemployment, and teen violence.
  • The program empowers youth people by providing Life-skill Training, Tutorial Service, Community Service Projects and Parent/Child workshops.
  • In addition, program participants receive training on a broad range of technology and telecommunication topics.  They learn to apply specific computer skills in Internet, word processing and spreadsheets in combination with critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

    Anti-Violence Summer Camp

      • To teach youth how to recognize catalysts for youth violent confrontations;
      • To engage youth in an anti-gun initiative that educates youth about gun violence;
      • Teach youth how to resolve conflict in their schools, with friends, at home, and within the community without resorting to violence;
